Airport Training Officer- STI

BOS Security is recruiting for a security trainer for dedicated men and women securing the Nation's airports.

A Security Training Instructor (STI) performs in various missions, such as the application of basic technical inspection knowledge acquired through formal basic training and On-the-Job Training (OJT). Conducts screening of passengers, baggage, or cargo to ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations.

An STI candidate shall have successfully complete screener training and will attend an initial certification training course provided by TSA to become qualified. 

All Train-the-Trainer and specific course certification requirements shall be fulfilled.

Contractor STIs shall also complete annual quality assurance assessments and shall receive a grade of “Meets Expectations”.

STIs shall perform TSO screening duties for at least 20% of their work time.

When selected and certified as a STI you will report directly to your local Project Management Team for all company related training matters.

You may be required to perform site visits to other BOS SPP locations for training support.

Minimum skills and experience for this key person are at least one of the following experience requirements presented below:

1. Minimum of two (2) years adult-learning classroom instruction experience; or
2. Instructor certification from a recognized instructor-training program (e.g., ASTD, CTTI); or
3. Formal instructor training from a recognized source (e.g., U.S. military, Federal training program, college/university or trade school, or private corporation).
4. Current certified Assistant Training Instructor (ATI)

Eligible Personnel: All certified Dual Function Screeners (DFS)in the following labor categories:

• Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO)
• Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO)
• Transportation Security Officer (LTSO)

All eligible candidates must be in good standing with the company with no disciplinary actions within the past 12 months.

OR

• Pass an extensive pre-employment testing to include a computerized test, drug and medical screening, a background investigation to include a criminal check/fingerprinting and a credit check
• Must be available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays
• Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 70 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for initial employment
• United States citizen
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Strong communication skills; Must be proficient in English (e.g., reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
• Maintain focus and awareness and work within a stressful environment
• Make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations
• Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance
